Los finales de los noventa dejaron marca aun presente en la moda internacional. Época en la que surgió una creciente obsesión por los medios de comunicación y por el culto a los famosos la cual hasta ahora tan solo ha disminuido en proporción.

The late nineties left traces still present in international fashion. Time which resulted in a growing obsession with the media and the celebrity adoration cult which now has only decreased in proportion.

Jaqueline Voltaire y Natalia Esperon en Guillermo León, Paulina Flores Miss México 2000 y conductora de FTV en Héctor Terrones y Jesus Ibarra & Bertholdo, Eiza Gonzalez en Mancandy, Marcus Ornelas en Ricardo Seco, Matias Novoa en Love Is Back, Daniel Magun ex Kabah y Montserrat Olivier en Royal Closet, Bárbara Mori en Ocho e incluso Anna Fusoni para Sergio Alcalá; en fin esos son los que recuerdo por ahora, pero se que la lista puede hacerse aún más grande. A veces el malinchismo tan característico del mexicano ha hecho que los diseñadores pierdan la oportunidad que existe en vestir a los personajes de la farándula mexicana.

Son dichos personajes, admirados por las masas, los que viven la vida aspiracional, la Dolce Vita que todo el mundo quiere. Por ende eso convierte a su guardarropa en un objeto del deseo per se.

Sometimes the little nationalism so characteristic of Mexico has led some designers to miss the opportunity that exists in dressing the characters in Mexican entertainment.

These are the figures admired by the masses, those who live the aspirational life, the Dolce Vita that everybody wants. Thus it makes their wardrobe into an object of desire per se.

¿y alguien sabe de quiénes son estos vestidos?

Aunque coinciden en varios puntos, el mundo de la farándula y el de la moda no son hermanos, son más bien primos, y por supuesto tiene cada cual su propia labor de relaciones publicas.

Es importante mencionar que el beneficio es mutuo, cuando las personalidades visten prendas de los diseñadores, suman piezas a su característica de ser aspiracionales.

Although they concur on several points, the world of the entertainment and fashion are not brothers, if anythign they are more like cousins, and of course each one has its own public relations strategy.

It is important to note that the benefit is mutual, when personalities wear designer clothes, it adds pieces to their being aspirational puzzle.

Hace unos días tuve la oportunidad de sumergirme en una clase del glamour distinto, al mundo que existe detrás de las pantallas, a la inauguración de las nuevas oficinas de la agencia de relaciones públicas y representación de talento: Prensa Danna.

A few days ago I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a different kind of glamour, to the world that exists behind the screens, with the opening of new offices of public relations and talent representation agency: Prensa Danna.

Crucé el portón y la alfombra roja, para encontrarme de nuevo en una fiesta de preparatoria en casa de mis amigos, imaginando que hubiera ido a la misma preparatoria que Silvia Navarro y Ana de la reguera, y que tal vez la banda escolar fuera la Sonora Dinamita (No te metas con mi Cu Cu!)

I crossed the gate and the red carpet to meet again at a party from my high school friends, pretending that I went to the same high school that Silvia Navarro and Ana de la Reguera, and that perhaps the school band was La Sonora Dinamita.

Entre la iluminación en rojos y el ambiente de “peda local” me encontraba en uno de los eventos mas entretenidos de mi vida, y no pude evitar pensar en la excelente oportunidad que algún diseñador mexicano hubiera tenido aquí.

Among the red lighting and atmosphere of "house party" I was in one of the most entertaining events of my life, and I could not help but think about the excellent opportunity that a Mexican designer would have had here.
